We welcomed – for the first time - Karl Sav to The M Shift airwaves, in what has turned out to be a couple of hours of very tidy music!

Karl has been extremely busy in the studio in recent times, and was kind enough to showcase some of his recent completions in his hour-long mix. Ryza and I provided the rest with a mixture of tech(ish) breaks – with a few classics in there for good measure.

I also disclosed some of the (now confirmed) details for The M Shift 250, scheduled for Saturday, 11 August. As you might imagine, we are beside ourselves with excitement.

We sincerely hope you enjoyed your long Easter weekend – if you were lucky enough!

We hosted what has become a bit of an annual occasion, in our ‘Easter Sunday Pre-Record Sessions’. The show contains a selection of mixes from the likes of Sideshow Rod, Andy Wright, Def Tonez and yours truly, with a range of styles included, to boot.

The entire show was very well received by the ever-loyal chat room regulars, and we hope you enjoy it, all the same!

During this show, I also announced that the 250th episode – scheduled for later this year – will be my last. In turn, that is likely wind up the show in its current capacity.

Clearly, this hasn’t been an easy decision, but I feel we’ve had a brilliant run over the last six and a half years, made some great friends, have plenty of amazing memories, and I believe we’ve achieved everything we set out to, with this project.

As a result, we intend to go out with an absolute bang, and will be hosting the 250th show from a venue in Sydney’s CBD, probably some time in August. I intend to release all details as they become available, but I assure you it will be large!

Not to worry, though, still eight shows between now and then, and plenty of quality to come before then!

It’s that time of the fortnight, that another M Shift becomes available.

This time, a couple of gentlemen known to the breakbeat world as “Broken Stylus”, took the hosting reins! To boot, this show also fit in nicely with Ryza’s birthday. Happy days all around!

Given the flourish of drum ‘n’ bass lately, this show – containing two hours of solid breakbeat – might have come as a welcome change for some.

In any case, the boys are of the opinion that it is one of their best Broken Stylus efforts to date – and we sincerely hope you share that opinion!

As promised, here is the latest archive from The M Shift, to set you up for your respected week ahead!

Having played copious amounts of breaks and drum ‘n’ bass lately, we decided to take things back a notch, with a helping of house. Andy Wright was a relatively late inclusion into this particular show, sharing a Digweed-inspired mix, given the sold out shows played by John Digweed in Sydney, on the corresponding weekend.

The artist formerly known as “JPL” – Leigh Westren in most circles – also re-joined the Randy Room antics, and brought forward what can politely be described as an “uplifting progressive house” effort. If that happens to be your bag, you’ll certainly enjoy the last forty minutes.

All in all, was a nice step back from the usual. Get ready for some drum ‘n’ bass this coming Sunday!
